About the Venue
TihsreeD (Tiz-reed) Lodge is a magical, luxurious mountain estate. We chose it because we feel it is the perfect place to relax, build bonds, create memories, and celebrate our love with all our family and friends!
The private mountain venue is less than an hour from Colorado Springs in Teller County, Colorado. The venue is on 50 secluded acres with wonderful views of Pikes Peak.
Culture & History
Since moving to Colorado, we have enjoyed getting to explore many new places. We love to learn more about the culture and history during all of our ventures. Which is one reason we love TihsreeD Lodge--it's abundance of history.
The property is in a line from Crystal Peak to Pikes Peak. Native American Utes traveled this way on their 'vision quest'. Minerals were collected at Crystal Peak (an internationally known rich source of rare minerals) and transported to the top of Pikes Peak.
Scrape marks and bent trees point the way toward Pikes. The scrapes start at waist height or at about 6 feet high. Tied trees point toward important landmarks. These culturally scarred trees are sacred to the Utes. For many years they were kept secret to protect them from disturbance. The tribal people have begun to talk about the trees in order for them to be located and saved. TihsreeD has many of these important, historic and sacred trees on the property.

Trees like this were tied with leather strips to stakes. These are known as Prayer Trees. The Utes believed the trees would live for 900 years, releasing their prayers into the wind.
These are Medicine Trees. These trees were cut at a height that represented a place on the body. Bark was stripped away and tree sap and tender material removed and eaten.
